Dr. Eleftherios Ouzounoglou is a software engineer, bioinformatician and researcher. He holds a university degree in informatics and telecommunications, received from National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (UoA) (2009), and an M.Sc. degree in information technologies in medicine and biology focusing on bioinformatics and systems biology. He received a PhD degree from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), School of Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2018. Since 2011 he has been a researcher at the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS) – NTUA. He has participated in several European FP7 and HORIZON 2020 research projects such as TUMOR, p-medicine, CHIC, MyHealthAvatar, ZONeSEC and Ranger, as a software developer and bioinformatician. He has participated in several project tasks focusing on sensitive data handling, sensor integration and communications security issues as well as on personalized cancer simulation and outcome prediction. He has published a number of articles in scientific journals and conferences. His research interests include among others: systems biology, bioinformatics, machine learning, multiscale cancer modelling and simulation, software development, data and communications security and management.
